Synopsis
The play is about three young women who serve as volunteers in an organisation called Lotta on Finland's eastern border during the war years 1939 - 44. The story tells about the three Lottas (approx. 20 years old), their hard work, the lack of food and other necessities as well as the pain and patience of the wounded soldiers. And since death and love always seem to go hand-in-hand, this is also a story of young and innocent love and its tragic end. The play couples this theme with a sense of togetherness and the golden humour that flows mysteriously in the midst of death and suffering.
