Synopsis
3 men
Leo knocks on his friend Max’ door in panic. His girlfriend gave him the hint that it might be worth thinking about certain things and sorting out his life. Leo who doesn’t have the faintest idea of what could be wrong in his life, asks if Max can do a therapy with him. Max and his brother Joni, a talk-show host, compete in helping Leo with their respective methods but mainly achieve demonstrating how lost they are themselves. Max is neurotic and withdrawn; Joni self-centred and unable to commit himself to anything. Little by little the trio notices that they all need each others help.
This intelligent and modern comedy delves into the crisis of being a man, the real and the imaginary crises. What is it that is nowadays demanded of a man? Does a man know how to be at one with his feelings? Can he be sensitive and successful at the same time? And what exactly is this Almodovar film really about?
“The play, written and directed by Mika Myllyaho, is an exquisitly orchestrated comedy which touches at the very least the thoughts of thirty-something men who have slipped onto a career fast track.
Myllyaho’s text offers the spectators bread and circuses in appropriate proportions.”
Ilkka Kuosmanen (Etelä-Suomen Sanomat 23.9.2005)
“Panic is neither distressing nor emphatically comic but it is touching as well as funny. In some sense it is even a therapeutic and cleansing experience in itself.”
Carina Berg (Turun Sanomat 24.9.2005)
