Mustarinda – Artist / Writer / Researcher Residencies

Located in Hyrynsalmi (Kainuu province, Northern Finland), Mustarinda-residency offers rooms for artists, writers and researchers of varying fields. Available for rent are three artist studios and additionally three rooms suitable for researchers/writers.

HIAP – Helsinki International Artist-in-residence Programme

The largest international residency centre in Finland and the only one operating in the capital. The program is focused primarily on the Visual Arts and is open to artists from various disciplines. Residencies are also offered for curators, dancers, choreographers, writers and researchers within several special programs.

Every year between 15-20 art professionals from around the world are offered a working period of 1-3 months in the programme. The programme is developed in close collaboration with a network of art specialists and cultural organisations in Finland and abroad.

Saari Residence

Saari Residence is a manor owned and maintained by Kone Foundation as a research and production facility for researchers and artists. Interested applicants can apply for 2- to 3-month stays at the residence. The application is open to all artists and also to researchers whose work is currently supported by a Kone Foundation grant. In the summer the residence functions as a group residence.

Saari Residence is located in the Mietoinen district of Mynämäki, an attractive thriving Western Finnish agricultural region. Close by the Manor is Mietoinen Bay, which is home to a wide variety of birdlife.

Nordic Culture Point: Artist Residencies

The target group is professional artists and cultural operators living in another Nordic or Baltic country than the country where the residency centre is based in.

Art Moves Africa

Art Moves Africa (AMA) is an international none for profit organisation aiming to facilitate cultural and artistic exchanges within the African continent. AMA offers travel funds to artists, arts professionals and cultural operators living and working in Africa to travel within the African continent in order to engage in the exchange of information, the enhancement of skills, the development of informal networks and the pursuit of cooperation.

Alliance of Artists Communities

The Alliance of Artists Communities is a national and international association of artists' communities and residencies — a diverse field of more than 1,000 programs worldwide that support artists of any discipline in the development of new creative work.

Believing that the cultivation of new art and ideas is essential to human progress, the Alliance's mission is to advocate for and support artists' communities, to advance the endeavors of artists.
