Join the first SoloPlayDay
On Nov 4-10, 2024 WEST is organising the first SoloPlayDay - an international monodrama festival! The main goal of the festival is to celebrate the diversity of monodrama performances around the world and to unite solo theatre makers together!
SoloPlayDay is an international monodrama festival that will take place during the first week of November (Nov 4-10). The main goal of the festival is to celebrate the diversity of monodrama performances around the world and to unite solo theatre makers together!
SoloPlayDay is organised by WEST (World of English Speaking Theatres) - an international theatre association that counts more than 80 members: theatre collectives, drama schools, playwrights, directors, from 25 countries.
SoloPlayDay program will be chosen by venues independently. The main rule is - it has to be a solo show, performed during the 4-10 of November. The genre, the length, the number of performances/shows and ticket prices are all up to a venue to decide.

The idea behind it is that the venues will program their festival program mostly independently: the genre, the length, the number of performances/shows and ticket prices are all up to a venue to decide.
The main rule is that it has to be a solo performance in English or another language (provided English subtitles).
Right now SoloPlayDay is looking for venues to join - we already confirmed UK and Ukraine venues and are negotiating with Finland and New Zealand. We want the festival to be truly international, so we would love for you to join us as well! Let me know what you think and hit me with any questions you might have!
