Playwright, dramaturge and librettist Klaus Maunuksela (b. 1993) originally hails from the southwestern Finnish city of Turku. He now lives and works in Helsinki, having graduated with an MA in Dramaturgy from the city’s Theatre Academy in 2018.
Maunuksela’s creative output to date encompasses theatre, literature, contemporary music and the performing arts, and he is committed to using his works to challenge the status quo. He is an active member of various independent creative collectives and other autonomous artistic movements. Maunuksela’s works have been performed on Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster, and at a number of festivals, including Helsinki Festival.
